Be certain that students know how to use the graphic organizer and how to explain and use the information on it. If you haven’t already, teach the use of the organizer with a simple example that students can easily grasp.
Explaining the purpose and teaching the structure of graphic organizers helps students understand how they are going to be expected to think about and create meaning of the new content or skills that they will be learning during the lesson.
