Increasing the Rigor of Lessons MicroPD Course 2: Learning Goals and Essential Questions

Learning-Focused Distributed Professional Development Copy

You will now participate in a MicroPD Course that is designed to deepen your understanding of the lesson plan and the top learning strategies integrated throughout The Learning-Focused Instructional Framework.

Upon completion of this course, the Learning-Focused Distributed Professional Development model suggests that you participate in two Support Meetings in which you will develop action plans, collaboratively plan lessons, reflect on classroom practice, share ideas and support each other while implementing what you are learning.

This model of professional learning provides opportunities and time to deepen your understanding and hone your skills. It prevents you from becoming overwhelmed initially, allows for multiple exposures to key concepts, provides support during implementation, and taps on the power of collaboration and reflection to support and sustain change.
