Impact of an Instructional Framework Copy Copy Copy

planWith an instructional framework, teachers are more effective because they:

  • Plan collaboratively using the common instructional framework
  • Purposefully plan for learning
  • Purposefully connect research-based learning strategies and evidence-based exemplary practices in every lesson plan
  • Plan with the end in mind
  • Plan clear grade-level learning goals for each lesson
  • Plan and use formative assessment to make frequent checks on student progress toward the learning goals
  • Plan to increase the rigor and depth of learning in every lesson
  • Plan specific strategies to engage students from poverty
  • Plan adjustments to provide the support and additional challenge that all students need to be successful in the lesson

“The single biggest difference between exemplary and typical schools is how and when teachers plan.”
