Key Element #5: Formative Assessments are Planned
All of the previous keys are dependent on careful planning. An important aspect of formative assessment is that it should be planned. Lessons should be planned with:
- Clear Learning Goals
- A defined sequence in which the Learning Goals should be met
- Acceptable evidence that each Learning Goal has been met
- A means of collecting evidence that each Learning Goal has been met
