- Located where it can be referred to frequently
Many teachers highlight or annotate the key vocabulary in the Lesson Essential Question as they introduce the lesson. This practice helps students develop vocabulary knowledge needed to successfully comprehend the question and learn the content of the lesson.
Lesson Essential Question is answered at the end of the lesson as students complete the lesson assignment. When the vocabulary is emphasized, as in the examples below, students are more likely to use the key vocabulary in their responses and write stronger summaries.
