Current standards have rigorous expectations. The question is, how is more rigor accomplished? In this course you will learn processes for increasing the rigor of instruction and assignments by integrating Higher Order Thinking strategies throughout your lessons. You will gain a number of research-based strategies for engaging students in Higher Order Thinking in every part of the lesson and be able to provide the explicit instruction students need to use Higher Order Thinking effectively.
You will learn to integrate Higher Order Thinking in your lessons to increase rigor, deepen student learning, and challenge students to critically analyze and interpret information to develop new insights. You will also gain tools for providing explicit instruction that is necessary for students to be able to strategically use Higher Order Thinking skillfully.
